Glass Fusing 101

Hokulani Glass Studio provides a one of a kind experience, which gives kids and adults,

the chance to design and create their own custom glass projects!

Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on project

Class Description: Great for beginners! This class is an introduction to basic fusing vocabulary and techniques. Learn basic techniques for fusing, including (2) 4 X 4 projects, including a coaster, and art piece (a 4 X 4 design can be brought in and traced onto the top clear glass, so no artistic ability is needed!) Includes an array of refreshments, and clients can also bring libation of choice, wine, appetizers, or sack lunch, to make it a fun time while creating their project. After class, photos can be taken on the lanai of our home, which was the former vacation home for actor Tom Selleck in beautiful Kona Hills Estates, a gated community.

Safety: Closed toe shoes are preferred when cutting glass. Safety glasses should be worn, or will be provided if needed.

Tools & Materials Included: All supplies for the project. Use of our grinders. Due to all pieces needed firing in the kiln, a 24-hour turn around time is needed, so projects can be picked up, delivered to hotel (depending on location), or mailed.

Cost: $125 plus + 4% Hawaii Sales Tax

Registration: Please go to our website at, class registration page. Fill out the form, and scroll to the bottom to the pay pal button, which you can pay on their secure site. The remaining balance can be paid in full in advance, or at the studio. If cash is paid, we will waive the 4% tax.

Cancellation Policy: Due to limited size of the class and demand (we are the only glass studio teaching workshops on the Big Island), here is the cancellation policy. More than two weeks before class – A non-refundable $25 handling fee for supplies ordered, as well as, the opportunity to have booked that day for other students will apply.
